Traffic Court Records in Coffee County
The venue printed on your traffic citation decides where you look first. Coffee County routes split across several courts. Coffee State Court, Douglas Municipal Court, Nicholls City Court, Broxton municipal matters, and any Ambrose matter each use different local channels. One thing is clear. Coffee Magistrate Court states plainly that it does not handle traffic citations.
A traffic record can show the citation, its date, a plea or payment event, the disposition, and other clerk entries. For Coffee State Court, visit the counter at 101 S. Peterson Avenue, Suite B-18, Douglas, Georgia 31533. You can also call 912-384-2865. The Coffee State Court office page is the county source for its contact and traffic links.
FivePoint's Coffee County Traffic Lookup
The county-linked FivePoint Coffee State Court portal does citation lookup and payment. It is not a general case-number or document search. Two routes exist. You can search by traffic or citation number, or by driver's license number, then hit Look up and confirm. Note that the license-number option only finds the payment record.
Once confirmed, pick a payable item. Full or partial payment may be available when enabled. The ACH or card fields can ask for account details, expiration, cardholder name, security code, billing address, email, phone, and a memo. Accept the terms before you review and submit.
| Portal Field or Control | What It Does | Required or Result |
|---|---|---|
| Traffic or Citation Number | Runs the citation-number search. | Required for that route. |
| Driver's License Number | Runs the alternate search. | Required for that route. |
| Look up and Confirm | Finds the item and verifies the match. | Precedes payable-item selection. |
| Full or partial payment | Sets the amount when enabled. | Partial payment may leave a balance. |
| Terms, Review, Submit | Records agreement and sends payment. | Required to submit. |
| Receipt controls | Shows transaction and total fields. | Print, email, text, or PDF may be available. |
That receipt is not a complete docket. Hang on to the transaction ID, and compare the date and disposition against the citation or the clerk's record.
The official FivePoint route draws the line between a payment and a full court record.
The clerk who issued the ticket is still the place to go. A court setting, contest instructions, or any document the payment screen leaves out belongs to that office, not the portal.
How to Look Up a Coffee County Traffic Ticket
Match your search to the venue on the citation. Coffee State Court uses FivePoint. Douglas runs payments and clerk business through its municipal channels. Nicholls uses a city-linked GovernmentWindow route, and Court Services contact Vickie Hampton can help. Broxton posts a municipal listing but no online ticket form. Ambrose offers no municipal portal. The citation itself is the best first record for picking the right clerk.
- Read the court name, citation number, date, time, location, and payment or appearance instruction.
- For Coffee State Court, use the FivePoint citation-number or driver's-license-number route. A blank result is not a final answer.
- For Douglas, use Municipal Online Payments for a payable item or call 912-260-3614 when an appearance or clerk answer is needed.
- For Nicholls, try GovernmentWindow, then call City Hall at 912-345-2421 or ask for Court Services contact Vickie Hampton.
- For Broxton or Ambrose, call the contact or clerk named by the citation and confirm the venue, record, date, and payment route.
Write down the court, date, amount, and status without changing the citation number. Lost the citation? Give the clerk your name, the approximate date, the issuing agency, and any number left on the notice.
Three Weeks for Coffee County Traffic Tickets
FivePoint warns that a new citation may take at least three weeks to show up online. A missing result means nothing. The fine still exists, and the date has not moved. Until the payment record appears, the paper citation and the issuing court control.
So call or visit when a ticket stays invisible. Coffee State Court's clerk number is 912-384-2865; Douglas Municipal Court's information line is 912-260-3614. Nicholls falls back to City Hall. Broxton uses City Hall and the citation, and Ambrose requires venue confirmation first.
Money rules matter here. The Coffee State Court payment office does not take personal checks. FivePoint's service fee is separate, and submitted payments are final. Read the terms before you send anything.
Finding Your Coffee County Traffic Court Date
A traffic or municipal appearance starts with the date printed on the citation. Confirm any reset or continuance with the issuing court. Coffee County posts no unified public traffic-docket calendar. The county calendar covers general events, not case numbers or parties, and proves nothing about a traffic setting.
| Citation Number | No local format was published. Enter it exactly as printed. |
|---|---|
| Court | Use the venue named on the citation. |
| Date & Time | Start with the citation; confirm any change with the clerk. |
| Courtroom | Ask the issuing court; the public calendar has no traffic-room field. |
| Status | Ask whether it is pending, payable, paid, disposed, continued, or an FTA matter. |
The clerk can confirm a State Court record, and each city court sets its own schedule. Keep the citation handy. Its date and instructions set the local contest or plea deadline; the county sets no separate one.
Coffee County Calendar and Ticket Dates
A county event listing shows public meetings. But it carries no court, judge, case-reference, or ticket-number field. The official Waycross Judicial Circuit page says no circuit calendar is currently available. It sends date questions to the county Clerk of Court.
Your real date evidence comes from the citation, a clerk notice, or a confirmed court entry. Those supply the case reference, session, location, and status. A payment portal may quote an amount but no appearance details. In that case, ask the court whether the citation is payable or requires a hearing.
The Coffee County court calendar information walks through the county date route. A traffic date still belongs to the citation and the issuing court, though.
Paying or Contesting a Coffee County Ticket
Paying and contesting are two different court paths. The citation gives you the deadline and the instructions. A portal can take a payable item, but an appearance offense must go through the issuing court. Douglas names its appearance offenses: theft or shoplifting, DUI, suspended or revoked driving, drug, theft, and suspended-registration matters.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| Use the named court's approved route when payable. | Follow the citation's plea or appearance instruction. |
| FivePoint may allow full or partial payment. | The court sets the next hearing route. |
| Review terms, service charge, total, and final-payment notice. | A payment screen does not enter a contest. |
| Douglas lists Police payment and mailed money order or cashier's check. | Use the court named on the citation. |
Missed Court Date or Payment: Failure to appear can trigger court and Georgia DDS action. DDS explains that an FTA suspension can follow court notice, with a 28-day timing rule after DDS receives notice. Resolve the case with the issuing court and follow DDS instructions.
Coffee County Municipal Traffic Routes
A city ticket follows the city's own route, unless the citation names a different court. Douglas holds appearances at the Law Enforcement Center, 825 Thompson Drive. Payment goes three ways there. You can use Municipal Online Payments, pay in person at the Police window, or mail a money order or cashier's check to 225 W Bryan Street. The information line is 912-260-3614. Douglas sends no reminder, so watch the date yourself.
Nicholls runs tickets through GovernmentWindow and City Hall. Broxton has a municipal court listed. Its ticket fields and online portal are another matter, since Broxton publishes none. Ambrose posts no municipal portal or court page either. So check your citation before assuming a route.
Never fold city cases into Coffee State Court. A citation naming State Court goes through the clerk and FivePoint. A citation naming a city goes to that city's own contact for a copy, a court date, payment, or a contest.
Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record
Two offices, two records. The issuing court or clerk keeps the traffic case. Georgia DDS keeps the state driver record. FivePoint can find a State Court payment item. But the full court file shows more. It holds the citation, the setting, the plea, the disposition, and every court event. DDS handles the driving record and any licensing response on its own side.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept By | Issuing court or clerk. | Georgia Department of Driver Services. |
| Shows | Citation, date, plea or payment, disposition, and court entries. | Reported convictions, points, suspensions, and reinstatement matters. |
| How to Get It | Named court portal, phone, counter, or copy process. | DDS state-record process. |
| What It Does Not Prove | A payment screen is not a full file or certified copy. | A DDS record is not the court docket or document image. |
For the state record, see Georgia DDS's FTA information. One citation can touch both files, yet each comes from a different office.
Coffee County Traffic FTA and Super Speeder
Super Speeder is not a local fine. FivePoint says so plainly. DDS mails the state fee after a conviction or a local payment. Call 678-413-8400 about that notice. The court record still governs the citation, the plea, each event, and the disposition.
Failure to appear works differently. DDS can act against a license once a court reports an FTA, but the court matter itself must be resolved with the issuing court. The deadline that counts is the date printed on the citation.
- Failure to appear
- A court-reported missed appearance that can lead to court and DDS action.
- Super Speeder
- A separate Georgia state fee and notice process, not the local citation amount.
- Disposition
- The recorded result of a case or charge; a payment screen is not the full result.
For a state licensing notice, the official DDS reinstatement page is the place to look. The court clerk confirms the underlying traffic case.
Coffee County Traffic Copies Need Clerk
Coffee County publishes no countywide fee schedule for traffic copies. FivePoint's service fee is a transaction charge, nothing more. It is not a certified-copy fee. Municipal payment pages post no copy table either. So ask the issuing court what a plain copy or a certified copy costs today.
The Coffee Magistrate Court fees page makes a useful boundary check. Its July 1, 2024 sheet lists Magistrate charges only. Magistrate does not handle traffic. Those rows are not State Court or municipal traffic fees, so treat them as a limit, not a guide.
Ask the court named on the citation. Confirm the current copy charge before you send payment.
Fees and Copies
Traffic costs stack up in pieces. There is the local amount due, a vendor service charge, and maybe a clerk copy charge later. Confirm each one in the named court route. A receipt proves a submitted transaction, not a certified record.
| Item | Fee Information | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| FivePoint service fee | Separate charge shown in terms or review. | Separate from the fine; payment is final per portal notice. |
| Plain traffic copy | Fee not located in official sources. | Confirm with the issuing clerk. |
| Certified traffic copy | Fee not located in official sources. | Ask the issuing court whether certification is available. |
| Magistrate certified-copy reference | $3 certificate plus $1 per additional page. | Magistrate does not handle traffic; not a traffic fee. |
Give the clerk the details up front. Name the court class, the citation number, the date, the record type, and whether you need a plain or certified copy. The clerk can quote the current fee. County-agency records run through the separate Coffee County Open Records route, not the court-file process.
Different rules govern different access questions. The Georgia Open Records Act (OCGA ยงยง50-18-70 and 50-18-71) covers public records. The Uniform Superior Court Rules 21 and 21.6 govern court access and redaction. Model Rule 36.16 addresses sealed or restricted material. Juvenile records carry separate confidentiality limits. Ask the issuing clerk which releasable record can be inspected.
